This guide will walk you through installing RedFox Thank You on your WordPress site.

Before You Begin#

Make sure you have:

  • WordPress 6.8 or higher installed
  • WooCommerce plugin installed and activated
  • Admin access to your WordPress site
  • Verified System Requirements

Installation Methods#

Choose the method that works best for you:


Automatic Installation#

This is the easiest way to install RedFox Thank You.

Step 1: Access the Plugin Installer#

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New from the left sidebar

Step 2: Search for the Plugin#

  1. In the search box (top right), type “RedFox Thank You”
  2. Press Enter or wait for results to load

Step 3: Install the Plugin#

  1. Find RedFox Thank You in the search results
  2. Click the Install Now button
  3. Wait for the installation to complete (usually a few seconds)

Step 4: Activate the Plugin#

  1. Once installed, the button changes to Activate
  2. Click Activate to enable the plugin
  3. You’ll see a success message

Step 5: Automatic Page Creation#

Upon activation, RedFox Thank You automatically:

  • Creates a “Thank You” WordPress page
  • Creates an “Order Failed” WordPress page
  • Configures default settings
  • Adds essential blocks to both WordPress pages
  • Creates a global thank you page with preconfigured blocks

Manual Installation#

Use this method if you’ve downloaded the plugin as a ZIP file.

Step 1: Download the Plugin#

  1. Download the redfox-thank-you.zip file from your source
  2. Save it to a location you can easily find (e.g., Downloads folder)

Step 2: Access the Upload Interface#

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  3. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page

Step 3: Upload the ZIP File#

  1. Click Choose File button
  2. Navigate to where you saved redfox-thank-you.zip
  3. Select the file and click Open
  4. Click Install Now button

Step 4: Wait for Installation#

The plugin will upload and install. This may take a minute depending on your connection speed.

Step 5: Activate the Plugin#

  1. Once installation completes, click Activate Plugin
  2. You’ll be redirected to the Plugins page
  3. The automatic page creation will run

Alternative: FTP Installation#

For advanced users, you can install via FTP:

  1. Unzip redfox-thank-you.zip on your computer
  2. Connect to your server via FTP
  3. Navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
  4. Upload the entire redfox-thank-you folder
  5. Go to Plugins in WordPress admin
  6. Find RedFox Thank You and click Activate

After Installation#

Once activated, here’s what happens automatically:

1. Pages Created#

Two new pages are created:

  • Thank You – Located at Dashboard > Pages > Thank You
  • Order Failed – Located at Dashboard > Pages > Order Failed

This both pages are used to control the system. Don’t edit those pages manually.

Beside those pages, there will be a Global Thank You page created automatically with preconfigured blocks.

You can find these under Dashboard > RedFox WP > Thank You > Pages in your WordPress admin.

2. Default Blocks Added#

Each page is pre-populated with essential blocks:

  • Thank You Block (main content area)
  • Customer Details
  • Order Details
  • Downloads (for digital products)

3. Settings Configured#

Default settings are applied:

  • Thank you page selected
  • Order failed page selected
  • WooCommerce redirects configured

4. Admin Menu Added#

A new menu item appears in your admin sidebar under the RedFox WP menu:

  • Thank You – Access all plugin features

Verify Installation#

Let’s make sure everything is working correctly.

Check 1: Plugin is Active#

  1. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  2. Find RedFox Thank You
  3. Confirm it shows as “Active” (not greyed out)

Check 2: Pages Exist#

  1. Go to Dashboard > Pages in the admin menu
  2. You should see the thank you and order failed pages listed
  3. Also, go to RedFox WP > Thank You > Pages and check the global thank you page is created.

Check 3: Access Settings#

  1. Go to RedFox WP > Thank You > Settings
  2. Confirm the settings page loads without errors
  3. Verify both pages are selected in the dropdowns

Check 4: Test Order Flow (Optional)#

  1. Enable “Test Mode” in WooCommerce if available
  2. Complete a test order
  3. Check if you’re redirected to the thank you page
  4. Verify order information displays correctly

Updating the Plugin#

When updates are available:

Automatic Update#

  1. Go to Dashboard > Updates
  2. Check the box next to RedFox Thank You
  3. Click Update Plugins

Or:

  1. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  2. If an update is available, you’ll see “Update available”
  3. Click Update Now

Tip#

Always backup your site before updating any plugin.

Best Practices for Updates#

  • Backup your database and files before updating
  • Test updates on a staging site first (if available)
  • Review the changelog to see what’s new
  • Clear cache after updating (if using a caching plugin)

Deactivation and Uninstallation#

To Deactivate#

  1. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  2. Find RedFox Thank You
  3. Click Deactivate

This disables the plugin but keeps all data (pages, settings).

To Uninstall#

  1. Deactivate the plugin first (see above)
  2. Click Delete below the plugin name
  3. Confirm the deletion

What gets deleted:

  • Plugin files only (based on your settings)

What’s kept by default:

  • Thank you pages you created
  • Settings (stored in database)

To delete all data:

  1. Go to Thank You Pages > Settings > Advanced
  2. Enable “Delete all data on uninstall”
  3. Save settings
  4. Then uninstall the plugin

Troubleshooting Installation#

Plugin Won’t Activate#

Possible causes:

  • PHP version too old (need 7.4+)
  • WooCommerce not installed
  • Plugin conflict

Solution:

  1. Check System Requirements
  2. Install and activate WooCommerce
  3. Try deactivating other plugins temporarily

Pages Weren’t Created#

Solution:

Manually create pages:

  1. Go to Pages > Add New
  2. Title: “Thank You”
  3. Add the Thank You Block
  4. Publish
  5. Select it in plugin settings

Upload Failed Error#

Possible causes:

  • File size limit exceeded
  • File upload disabled
  • Permissions issue

Solution:

  1. Try the FTP installation method
  2. Contact your hosting provider
  3. Check server error logs

White Screen After Activation#

Possible causes:

  • Memory limit too low
  • PHP fatal error
  • Server misconfiguration

Solution:

  1. Deactivate via FTP: Rename the plugin folder
  2. Increase PHP memory limit
  3. Check error logs in cPanel or hosting panel
  4. Contact support with error details
